Packing it all in, fueled by the worst Italian food this side of Ulaanbaatar

WordPress was down last night. Which meant no posting of profound wisdom. Which is probably best because I was profoundly distracted by all things last minutey yesterday. I did get in my last gym workout (the college kids are back in full force, and the Earth keeps right on spinning). And my last walk around the neighborhood. And we even threw in a family dinner out at an Italian place in the general neighborhood that featured the single most disgusting meal I’ve had in all my years in Seattle. Casa D’Italia. Never again. Yet that somehow made the whole day complete, even if it wasn’t the final note of a bizzy bizzy whirl of pre-trip fun crazy. And I can say all this now, as my bags settle having been expertly packed (don’t get any member of this family started on how to pack a damn bag) after a singularly delightful last spin this morning around Magnuson Park. The lights were off. The moon was out. And I was cranking along. My last run in Seattle was a good one. Mark that down as a victory. Now if only Delta Airlines doesn’t roughhouse me on an otherwise bright and shiny Saturday, I should be cruising the backroads of Northern Wisconsin in no time.

Today’s run – 7 miles to and through Magnuson Park
55-degrees, not a cloud in the sky
Days until the Twin Cities Marathon – 8
See you tomorrow, on Central Time.
